Week 3 Day 4 update

Just wanted to share these awesome pictures of Heidi that her dad sent in today.
Heidi has been exploring and seeing lots of different creatures on her walks! What animals can you see? Heidi has also been practicing her writing, and keeping up with her smiles over the lockdown.
Awesome job Heidi, keep it up!

Week 3 day 3 update

Hi everyone!
Thanks to everyone for your understanding in relation to Google Meet time changes and slow responses to emails. As many of you are aware, as level 3 is now in place, children of essential works with no alternative care are now back in school. This makes it a busy time for all of us, but please sending in emails of what you've been up to as I love to read and share them.

I can't wait to see even more of you at the hangout tomorrow at 10am!

Ps: Can you remember the name of this animal from our story this morning?

Shopping lists and Show and Tell

What an awesome start to the week Room 16!
This morning we looked at Anzac Ted and looked at different toys that are old and new. We also talked about what we were going to do today. Miss Rayner said she was going to go shopping so Room 16 have helped her write her shopping list! Have a look at the picture below to see what we came up with!

Your challenge for today is to make a video of yourselves talking about your favorite toy or teddy. - How old are they? - What's their name? - Why are they your favorite? -Anything else? Have a great day!

Room 16's shopping list for Miss Rayner:
Bread, apples, cereal, bananas, carrots, ice pops, eggs, tomatoes, milk, juice, water (and also milkshakes!). Room 16 also said Miss Rayner wasn't allowed any chocolate or sweets!

Week 2 Day 5 update

Have a look at this awesome work done by Isaac today! What a superstar you are Isaac!

I hope everyone has a brilliant weekend with lots of sunshine and we'll see you all online on Tuesday from 9am. Please be aware that for Tuesday only the 9am -10 am session will be running as teachers are being given time to prepare in schools for coming out of Level 4 and into Level 3 on that day.

Week 2 Day 5: Make your own uniform day

How funny to see everyone in their 'own uniforms' this morning on the chat. We saw Rara and Miss Nickie dressed as Spiderman and Luke dressed as an awesome superhero. We also saw some funky and colorful outfits from Mary, Jayni and Jayna, and Lennox. I loved that Robert's top had a cool lizard on it today too and that Annabelle did an awesome job wearing her PCS school uniform!

Have a look below at Miss Rayner's 'make your own uniform' that she was wearing this morning and if you can, send in a picture of the uniforms you made this morning and we can put them on the blog. My uniform had a dressing gown, a pajama top, a pajama bottom, and a pair of fluffy slippers. It's keeping me very warm whilst we work from home! What will yours look like?

Have a great Friday everyone. :)

Week 2 Day 4 update

I am as proud as ever of all the lovely children in Room 16 for trying their best everyday, even when it can be tricky!

For some children being online has been a bit task to see other people in such a different setting. You guys are superheros! Wow, look at you go, being brave enough to speak on camera, and don't worry, Miss Rayner gets scared too sometimes. :)

Some children have loved reading at home with adults but hated doing math and that's totally okay, I love that you're giving it a go and trying your best.

I also heard that Isaac yesterday got so caught up with the challenge of designing a lunchbox that he didn't get round to doing anything else- totally okay!  Check out Isaac's amazing lunchbox below.

Other children might have not wanted to work but they've managed to do something, even the smallest thing everyday and it is just amazing that as family, as loved ones, as adults and children together you are doing this and being so strong!

Keep going everyone! I promise every time I see an email from you it makes me smile and I can't wait to keep sharing the rest of your pictures and videos this week and next.

Love Miss Rayner

Awesome work Rara!

Look at these awesome videos of Rara that his mum has sent in. You can see how much energy he has for the school day! I especially love him dancing with his big sister who also goes to PCS. Awesome job guys!

Week 2 Day 4 challenge!

Your challenge lovely children (should you choose to accept it!) will be to design a new school uniform just like the children and monster were wearing in the storybook!

You can make it out of clothes and items in your home, and wear it to the Friday meetup at 9AM!
Have a look at Miss Rayner's idea for a new school uniform below. I can't wait to see what exciting outfits everyone comes up with!

If you can't make it to the meet on Friday to showcase your school uniform then I would still love to see you comment below with a picture or send me an email with your ideas.

Your school uniform at the moment has a hat, a polo shirt, shorts/pants/skirt and whichever shoes you choose to wear. But your uniform that you make can have anything you like in it!

Week 2 Day 3 update

Hi everyone! I hope you've all managed to do some fab designs for your pack lunch boxes! I'll be designing mine soon as well to show you in the google hangout tomorrow. :)

Have a look at this awesome work that Waris has sent in! Also scroll to the bottom to see what Miss Nickie made for our challenge yesterday of using different items to make or draw a sandwich. Wow Miss Nickie!

Stay safe,
